SUMMER 2007
CELEBRATING OUR 40th YEAR OF SERVICE TO THE YOUTH TRACK CHEER AND FOOTBALL COMMUNITY

SENIOR FOOTBALL AT ELMORE PARK
Elmore Park will have a Senior Football team this coming 2007 Football Season

Coaches are in place, uniforms have been ordered and everything is set to go. If you are a 7th or 8th grader that will not turn 14 prior to Sept. 30th you are eligible to play for the Pack.

There are a lot of advantages to playing 7th and 8th grade football at Elmore Park.

Here Are Just A Few:

1. A 8 game schedule with a 3 rounds of playoffs: Other leagues only have 5 or 6 games.

2. No year round practices: You begin practice in late July and the season is over the 2nd week in November.

3. Squad Size Is Smaller: Because squad size is smaller you get the chance to hone your skills and get more playing time.

4.Low Cost: Yeah some say they are free to play but pack on extra charges once you start. We tell you what its going to cost and thats it.

5.Not getting Defined By The High School Coaches: By playing in the other league the high school coaches may decide where you are going to play early as the 7th or 8th grade. With SYS you get the chance to develop at your own pace, still have fun and try a lot of positions. You might not get this chance with the other league.

6.Eligible for SYS Scholarship Moneys: If you participate with SYS you are automatically eligible for participation in SYS's Scholarship Program.

8.Learn the Fundamentals that will allow you to play at the High School Level: Many of our former participants have gone on to sucessfull high-school football careers. Just ask our coaches......
FOOTBALL AND CHEERLEADING SIGN-UPS CONTINUE
Come join the Elmore Park Packers for our 40th Football & Cheer season.

If you are a past Elmore Park participant and plan on playing this year, you need to make plans to sign-up at one of the upcoming sign-up dates.

Turn-out for the 07 season sign-ups has been great so the jersey number you want may not be available if you wait too long.We are also asking our players and cheerleaders to buddy up and bring a friend to come and be a part of our program.

Football and Cheerleading sign-ups will continue, July 7th, 14th, and 21st from 12-2 p.m. at Milanos Pizza. New pariticipants will need to bring a recent picture and a copy of the birth certificate.

Milanos is located at 7625 US Highway 64, Bartlett,TN 38133.
FCA Impact Play: "The Attitude of Winners"
READY:"Make your own attitude that of Jesus Christ."-Philippians 2:5

SET:

There are times in baseball when it seems like nothing goes right.
You drop a fly ball, you strike out, you ground into a double play,
your team gives up a bunch of runs. . . None of those are very
encouraging, and people usually get mad and throw fits in those
cases. You see this in the pros all the time. Managers especially can
throw some of the biggest fits if an umpire doesn't make the call
that they want. You would think that adults wouldn't throw fits!

Athletes and coaches often think that winning is everything, but
truthfully, it is not. A person's attitude--win or lose--helps
determine true winners and losers.

The Bible says that in order to please God, we need to love one
another and work together with one purpose. It's says that we should
not be selfish or to try to impress others, but instead be humble and
look out for our teams. God wants us to have the same attitude that
Jesus Christ had.

The Bible tells us, in Philippians, to think on good things, not bad.
So, next time, instead of throwing a tantrum on the field, think to
yourself, "I did my best, and next time, I will do better." Having a
Christ-like attitude will bring victory to your life even when you
lose a game.

GO:
1. How do you react if you or your team messes up? Why?
2. How SHOULD you react? Why?
3. What does the Bible say about your attitude?
4. What have you learned about how your attitude affects your
performance?

WORKOUT:
Ephesians 4:23-24
Philippians: 2:1-5
Philippians: 4:8

OVERTIME:
"Father, we pray in Jesus' name that You would help us to have good
attitudes whether we win or lose. We give You all the glory for our
athletic abilities."
