7th and 8th Grade Football
Elmore Park will have a Senior Football team this coming 2006 Football Season

Coaches are in place, uniforms have been ordered and everything is set to go. If you are a 7th, 8th or 9th grader that will not turn 15 prior to Dec. 15th you are eligible to play for the Pack.

There are a lot of advantages to playing 7th and 8th grade football at Elmore Park.

Here Are Just A Few:

1. A 7 game schedule with a 3 round playoff schedule: Other leagues only have 5 or 6 games.

2. No year round practices: You begin practice in late July and the season is over the 2nd week in November.

3. Squad Size Is Smaller: Because squad size is smaller you get the chance to hone your skills and get more playing time.

4.Low Cost: Yeah some say they are free to play but pack on extra charges once you start. We tell you what its going to cost and that’s it.

5.Not getting Defined By The High School Coaches: By playing in the other league the high school coaches may decide where you are going to play early as the 7th or 8th grade. With SYS you get the chance to develop at your own pace, still have fun and try a lot of positions. You might not get this chance with the other league.

6.Eligible for SYS Scholarship Moneys: If you participate with SYS you are automatically eligible for participation in SYS's Scholarship Program.

8.Learn the Fundamentals that will allow you to play at the High School Level: Many of our former participants have gone on to sucessfull high-school football careers.Just ask our coaches......

ADDITIONAL FOOTBALL SIGN-UPS DATES AND TIMES HAVE BEEN SET
The 40th year of Elmore Park Packer football and cheerleading is set to begin. Additional sign ups have been set from 1 - 3 pm at Oak Grove Church July 15th and 22nd. Oak Grove is located at 7317 Highway 64 in Memphis, TN. 38133.

Remember that new football participants must have a copy of the BC and all must have a recent photo.

HEADS UP ON ALL RETURNING PLAYERS......You need to registar early if you want to keep your same jersey number! Don't forget to bring a recent picture and birth certificate if you are a new football participant. If your're a cheerleader, you will need a copy of your report card.

NEW SYS CONFERENCE SYSTEM IN PLACE
SYS has instituted a conference based schedule for the upcoming 2006 season. Broken out into 2 divisions, East and West, Elmore Park will be playing in the Eastern Division against: ARLINGTON, BARTLETT,CORDOVA,ELLENDALE,HAYWOOD AND SOUTHWIND.We will be playing 6 divisional match-up and 2 non-divisional games. It should be easy to remember as our first and last games of the season are non-divisional games.

The 2006 Schedule has already been set and can be found on the scroller on the Elmore Park Home Page. For a more detailed view and printable version of the schedule check out the Scores and Schedule link under Football on the homepage.

Note: Because 2 SYS programs have opted out of the Senior program, the Senior Schedule will be slightly different. The Senior Schedule can olny be viewed at the Scores and Schedules link at this time.
